Modern + Rustic Interior

It is no secret that I love rustic modern combos.  I featured this modern, restored farmhouse here.  And today I have yet one more modern rustic home to share…

The architecture is intriguing and unique and the layout of the home creates cozy exterior areas…

Red is not always my first color choice in design, but it creates a statement and amidst white white and rustic details, it is the perfect, bright accent to warm up the space…

Photography hint: if you need to soften an architectural space with hard lines and minimal furniture pieces, a fluffy little dog is the perfect accessory!

Ottomans and throw pillows are a great way to add color and texture without being overbearing.  Ottomans are also flexible and make for varying seating arrangements…

As I previously posted here, black, factory-style windows are a great complement to modern spaces…

I LOVE LOVE love the pillows on the bed from e bella designs. The pom pom pillow adds great texture while remaining modern, playful and fun.

If you are designing a modern space, finding one or two bold colors (like the red below) that can be subtly used in many of your spaces will be a seamless way to tie your home together…

While this home was featured in Luxe magazine, this small team was responsible for making it look good:

P.S. As we enter another weekend of sports, I wanted to share a friend’s new website, Sports Morsel.  Catering to women, it aims to provide Sports news and gossip for Midwest sports.  Fun, right?!? Check it out here.

Have a great weekend! xo
